Preparation before installation
1. Confirm the installation location: Determine the installation location of the vent according to the use requirements and design requirements. Make sure that the installation location is in line with the overall planning of the ventilation system and can meet the ventilation requirements. At the same time, consider the environmental conditions around the installation location, such as space size, obstacles, temperature, humidity, etc., and avoid installing in places with high temperature, humidity, corrosion or mechanical vibration.
2. Check the vents and accessories: Before installation, carefully check the integrity and quality of the ePTFE vents and related accessories. Make sure that the size and specifications of the vents are consistent with the design requirements and there is no damage, deformation or defects. Check whether the accessories such as sealing strips, screws, nuts, etc. are complete and of good quality. If any problems are found, they should be replaced or repaired in time.
3. Clean the installation surface: The installation surface should be clean, flat and dry to ensure good contact and sealing between the vent and the installation surface. Wipe the installation surface with a clean cloth or detergent to remove impurities such as dust, oil, moisture, etc. If the installation surface is uneven, it needs to be trimmed or adjusted with gaskets to ensure the stability of the vent after installation.
4. Prepare installation tools: According to the installation method and requirements of the vent, prepare corresponding installation tools, such as screwdrivers, wrenches, electric drills, sealant guns, etc. Make sure that the tools are complete, intact, and can be used normally.
Key points during installation
1. Correctly install the sealing strip: The sealing strip is a key component to ensure the sealing performance of the vent. Before installing the vent, properly install the sealing strip on the edge of the vent or the installation surface. Make sure that the sealing strip is firmly installed without distortion, deformation or damage. During the installation process, pay attention to the position and direction of the sealing strip so that it fits tightly with the vent and the installation surface to prevent air leakage.
2. Align the installation position and fix: Align the ePTFE vent to the installation position, place it slowly and ensure that it fits completely with the installation surface. Use screws, nuts or other fixings to fix the vent to the installation position. During the fixing process, pay attention to tightening the screws or nuts evenly to avoid deformation or damage to the vent due to uneven force. At the same time, make sure that the fixings are firmly installed to prevent the vents from loosening or falling off.
3. Pay attention to the ventilation direction: When installing the vents, pay attention to the correct installation of the ventilation direction. According to the design requirements of the ventilation system, ensure that the air inlet and outlet of the vents are in the correct direction to ensure that the air can flow smoothly. If the ventilation direction is installed incorrectly, it may result in poor ventilation effect and even affect the normal operation of the entire ventilation system.
4. Connect the ventilation duct (if necessary): If the vent needs to be connected to the ventilation duct, the connection of the ventilation duct should be considered at the same time when installing the vent. Make sure that the size and specifications of the ventilation duct match the vent, and the connection is tight and firm. When connecting the ventilation duct, you can use sealant or sealing gaskets to enhance the sealing of the connection and prevent air leakage. At the same time, pay attention to the direction and slope of the ventilation duct to ensure that the air can flow smoothly in the duct to avoid water accumulation or blockage.
5. Avoid damage to the vents: During the installation process, be careful to avoid damage to the ePTFE vents. The ePTFE membrane is a relatively fragile material that is easily scratched, punctured or torn. Therefore, avoid using sharp tools or excessive force during installation to prevent damage to the surface or internal structure of the vent. If the vent is damaged during installation, it should be replaced in time to ensure the performance and service life of the vent.
Inspection and testing after installation
1. Check the installation quality: After the installation is completed, carefully check the installation quality of the vent. Check whether the vent is installed firmly, without looseness, tilt or deformation. Check whether the sealing strip is installed correctly and the sealing performance is good. Check whether the connection between the vent and the ventilation duct is tight and there is no air leakage. If any problems are found, they should be adjusted or repaired in time.
2. Test ventilation performance: After the installation is completed, conduct a ventilation performance test to ensure that the ventilation effect of the vent meets the design requirements. Tools such as anemometers and air flow meters can be used to measure the wind speed, air volume and other parameters of the vent to check whether the vent can provide sufficient ventilation. At the same time, check whether the ventilation direction of the vent is correct and whether there are ventilation dead corners or short circuits. If the ventilation performance does not meet the requirements, it is necessary to find the cause and make corresponding adjustments or improvements.
3. Clean up the installation site: After the installation is completed, clean up the installation site and clean up the garbage and waste generated during the installation process. Keep the installation site clean and tidy for subsequent use and maintenance.
